Breakfast Smoothie

There's no tastier way to get all of the nutrients you need in the morning than a smoothie.  I am a total health nut but taste is something I am not willing to settle on when it comes to eating healthy.  This smoothie is super easy to make and super yummy.  You won't be disappointed!!  (This recipe yields 2 servings so share one with a friend and help them get their morning started off right too!)
First add 2 cups of frozen fruit, in my case I used a mix of pineapple, strawberry, peach, and mango.  Then pour 1 1/2 cups of juice into the blender.  I used cran-raspberry juice but any juice will work, it all depends on your preference.
Then add the banana and handful of spinach to the mix.  Be sure to add plenty of spinach to get all of those vitamins and minerals your body so desperately needs!!!
Then add 1 large spoonful of soy protein powder.  I wouldn't recommend protein powder as a complete substitution for protein however when I want to work out in the morning but don't want to have a full belly I usually opt for this smoothie as a source of protein.
Next add one large spoonful of flax seed meal.  This is a good source of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids which are very difficult to get in a regular diet (especially for someone who isn't a huge fan of fish... like me).
Lastly, blend it all together...
And now relax and enjoy this beautiful morning.  Doesn't it feel good knowing you started your day off the right way?
